New Fountain Designs
I am designing a new series of fountains in 2009, based on an interpretation of the Catalpa tree. These have an airy structure of sinuous branches and stems, with clusters of large veined leaves. The leaves are all fed with water, so that the multiple streams of droplets unite the whole shape.
I have just completed the first one, which was a commission, now installed (photograph on left). It measures 6ft high by 6ft wide and makes a wonderful splashing sound. I am currently working on a second one, not quite so large, which will be on my stand at Hampton Court in July. Many other shapes are possible.
Photographs and information on this and other recent work are on this website, see Fountain Gallery, Recent Designs section.
As always, each fountain is an individual commission, made to suit the location and what the client wants. So designs continuously evolve and no two fountains are the same. Of course I am always glad to design around a totally new idea and do not charge for the extra time involved for this.
I hope to see you at Hampton Court this Summer.
