The Garden Event at West Dean
20th and 21st June 2009
We are exhibiting at this lovely garden show in the stunning gardens of West Dean in West Sussex. There are sales stands from the best specialist nurseries in the South East of England and the best in garden sundries, particularly from companies making their own goods, including tools, terra cotta, books, sculpture and fountains.
West Dean has extensive 35 acre Victorian pleasure grounds, featuring lovely plantings of trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants, an orangery, a 300ft long pergola by Harold Peto and the River Lavant winding peacefully through against a backdrop of the South Downs. A highlight is the Victorian walled garden which features a collection of historic fruit varieties, beautifully trained, thirteen original Victorian glasshouses, fully stocked and long cut flower borders with many unusual plants.
West Dean is on the A286 between Midhurst and Chichester, almost in sight of Goodwood Racecourse. The show is open from 10.30am to 5.00pm on Saturday 20th and Sunday 21st June. Tickets sold on the door.
