Large Acer Tree Fountain for Treetops Hospice

Large Acer Tree Fountain for Treetops Hospice
This large fountain, 5ft (1.5m) high was commissioned for the Treetops Hospice in Derbyshire. It has been istalled in the courtyard of a new wing opened by the Duchess of Gloucester on November 2nd 2010.
The fountain is based on the Acer Palmatum tree, with its curving, finger-shaped leaves. The fountain has delicate hand beaten leaves and curved branches. Water is fed at four different pressures, so that all leaves drip gently from their drooping tips. It makes a soft splashing sound. Light catches the droplets and fine streams of falling water .
