Thalia Fountain

Thalia Fountain
This design of copper fountain was inspired by the dramatic shape of the Thalia water plant. The spear shaped ribbed copper leaves are beaten to shape and rise from long slender stems.
The whole plant has a multitude of leaves at different levels, forming a crown-shaped sculpture. Water is projected up each leaf and falls back, rippling over the leaf ribs, eventually falling into the pond below, to make a musical splashing sound . Light catches in the water on each leaf and on the falling water droplets.
The fountain, at 180cm high, is suitable for a lake or large pond, either in a large garden or a public space. A smaller version would be suitable for a garden.
