Large Gunnera Fountain for Strand Building

This large Gunnera fountain stands in the middle of the courtyard of the Strand Building in Hackney, a splendid, example of Art Deco.  Water wells up in the copper leaves at the top, and cascades down from leaf to leaf.

The giant leaves are hand beaten to shape from copper and brazed to the copper stems, to form a massive Gunnera plant.
